FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE TONGANOXIE ARTS COUNCIL AND KANE FAMILY FARM

PLEIN AIR
Stroll around the grounds of Kane Family Farm as artists from near and far paint their "Nocturn" views. Artists will have three hours to complete the painting start to finish. Paintings will be available for purchase in the gallery throughout the days of the festival.

Live Bluegrass Music by Gullywasher!
As you watch the artists painting, make sure to check out the stage featuring GULLYWASHER! They are a bluegrass band featuring Chris Hudson on guitar and vocal, Sam Wright on the banjo and vocal, and Matt Cathlina on bass. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Children's Storytelling Festival
The Tonganoxie Arts Council will have the Tonganoxie Elementary School, Kindergarten through Third Grade will bussed over for a day of stories by renowned children's authors and storytellers Alastair Heim, Daniel Miyares, Joyce Slater, JT Nagle, and Dino O'Dell! Breakout sessions for storytelling and workshops. Hands-on-activities. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy onsite. Homeschoolers welcome! Recommended ages 5+ Paid for by a Grant from the Leighty Trust Fund.

TAC brings you storytellers from near and far. Come listen to an olio of stories; stories that make you laugh; stories that make you cry; stories that make you think; and everything in between. Enjoy a relaxing night at Kane Family Farms, kick up your feet and listen. Food and drink will be available for purchase! Storytellers: Allen Debey, Keyta Kelly, Rachel Kelly, Alice Nathan, Joyce Slater, Ron Stewart and Rich White.

Kane Family Farm presents Big Time Grain Company! Two farm raised, down to earth brothers from western Kansas, doing what they love, touching hearts and inspiring dreams along the way. A mesmerizing singer and guitarist whose style traverses R&B, country, blues and folk. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, White released her debut EP, The Good Side of You, in late 2018 and has been busy ever since refining herself as a performer and songwriter.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER AS A FINE ART VENDOR IS MAY 5TH, 2022!! YOU CAN REGISTER AS A PLEIN AIR COMPETITOR ONLINE NOW THROUGH MAY 5TH OR IN PERSON THE DAY OF COMPETITION.
Plein Air artists of all mediums will compete in 10 different paint outs for a total of $3,100.00 in prizes. These competitions will take place from Thursday evening, May 12th through Sunday morning, May 15th. On Saturday, May 14th, the grounds of the Kane Family Farm in Tonganoxie will be filled with fine art booths displaying and selling their artwork. Originals and prints will be available to fit within any collector's budget. Art mediums will include paintings, pottery, jewelry, glass blowing, woodworking, and more. Street Performers will entertain all day and live music will fill the air in the evening . Also, get your taste buds satisfied by the food trucks and local restaurants participating in the Festival.

Live Glass Blowing Demonstrations

More Than Lemons Hot Glass Shop brings glass blowing demonstrations to Tonganoxie. Visit their vendor location, watch as they make something right before your eyes, and check out the pieces they have for you to buy and take home!

Miata Car Club on Display
3:00pm - 10:00pm
The festival shines in color with the Crossroads Miata Club. Walk around and see about 15 Miatas and mingle with their owners. They are an energetic, flexible, and "members led" car club ready to have some fun hugging the curves. Contact them at crossroadsmiataclub@yahoo.com. Kids Art Activities

Spray paint your own frisbee, make balloon character art, and more. Visit the kids area outdoors near the big canopy tent to let your kids experience and take hom their very own work of art!

Food Vendors will be on-site throughout the festival with unique food and beverages. Enjoy BBQ, Mexican, and American fare as you listen to the music and entertainment!

They are a party-music, good-time, everybody smiling, most-fun-you-can-have-in-public kind of pop, rock, hip-hop, funk, soul, disco, country dance band! Come on out, enjoy an amazing night of music and dancing. Food and drink will be available for purchase!
Rusty Laffoon is a vocally versatile acoustic artist whose performances are notable for genre-hopping between Country, Rock, Blues, Motown, Pop, and more! Sing along to Merle before belting out Whitesnake at the next show!
Rusty has been performing in the Kansas City area and throughout the Midwest since the early 2000's, previously fronting bands that opened for Travis Tritt, Sawyer Brown, Los Lobos, Jo Dee Messina, Dylan Scott, Drake White, and more! No matter your musical tastes, Rusty's acoustic performances will bring a smile to your face and have you singing along before the show ends.
